There is much debate over the etiology of
autism. Is it genetic or is it environmental?

I believe that both genetics and toxins play
their role in autism. I personally agree with
Julie Matthews' reference in her book
    Nourishing Hope For Autism that:

"Genetic weakness coupled with one or more
    environmental assaults results in the
    manifestation of autism." (Deth)

By looking at your family tree (parents,
grandparents, siblings, etc.) you can
see where family illness comes from.
Families with an autistic child report
finding genetic traits either from the
Methylation Tree or Common
Autoimmune Tree, or both.  If any of
these disorders are found in your family,
see them as warning signs of possible
risk of your child developing autism.

The Methylation Tree includes:

Dementia
Autism, ADHD, ADD
Schizophrenia
Bipolar Disorder
Alzheimer's
Depression
Alcoholism
Constipation
Suicide

The Common Autoimmune Tree includes:

Leaky Gut
Chrohn's Disease
Fibromyalgia
Chronic Fatigue
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Lupus
Celiac Disease
Multiple Sclerosis
Diabetes
MBP antibodies
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Graves Disease
Addison's Disease
Thyroid Disease
